Destinations

Youth2007 is excited to offer five Destinations where you can explore our themes: Seek, Pray, Learn, Act, Teach . Check out these great destinations as a group or on your own. Plus don't miss out on the Splat Zones . These interactive areas will allow you to cut loose and have a little fun

Destinations

Destination: Seek
The Amazing Bible Race

Seek and find God in the scriptures through The Amazing Bible Race destination. Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is a scavenger hunt through the Bible complete with races, obstacle courses, Bible quizzes, and prizes! Travel through the destination will take about an hour. Come with your friends and challenge each other to The Amazing Bible Race.

Destination: Pray
Oklahoma Conference

We will be creating prayer stations where youth will have an opportunity to learn about different types of prayers, a place where they can use their creativity  as well as hands on experience, a place for reflection, a place to feel God's presence.

Destination: Learn
The Way of the Pilgrimage

Centuries ago, Christian people began taking journeys to sacred places in search of the Divine. They walked together as pilgrims seeking Christ every step of the way. Join us on a modern-day pilgrim's journey, as we walk through Greensboro seeking God's presence in the sights of the city and in the stories of the city's past. With writers of the Upper Room's The Way of the Pilgrimage series as your pilgrimage guides, you will take a journey through downtown Greensboro , following the footsteps of the Greensboro Four - pioneers of the Civil Rights sit-in movement. Together we will seek how God was present in the midst of Greensboro 's broken history and how God remains present in the city today.

Destination: Act
Nothing But Nets

Major league soccer's Diego Gutierrez of the Chicago Fire will share his personal faith experience. You can meet and interact with him, and even get autographs. We may also have a surprise visit from an NBA player who will sign autographs. While you are learning more about Nothing But Nets, and gathering information to take home and share with your congregations, hit the basketball court yourself – come with friends or join a pickup game.

But why wait? There are opportunities to raise funds for Nothing But Nets before Youth 2007. The grand prize for the highest fund-raisers will be a trip to the United Nations (UN) in New York City . Please visit www.umc.org/nets for details and to learn the rules for fund-raising.

Destination: Teach
Central Texas Conference

Teaching other people about the faith that is within you is one of the most important aspects of being a Christian. Come learn why your witness matters. This destination will give fun, hands on experiences as to how to “teach” the gospel to others in our every day lives.  Explore what it means to live the gospel and to help others understand it and accept it as their own so that they may also be “teachers”.  Parables, puzzles, pictures and more will help you be more solid in your own spirituality in order to spread “the good news” to others.

Splat Zones

Worship Feast Prayer Zone

Come and find a quiet encounter with God through prayer stations, a labyrinth walk, Taize prayer services, and daily office prayers. If the sheer volume of people everywhere you look has you hungry for some alone time with God, come and feast at God's table of grace and love.
