The program will prepare the youth ministry of our annual conference for expansion and impact on a larger scale by bringing forth new leaders with commitment to ministry with young people. The participants will be in a key position in the churches they will serve in during the 1forGud year. They will set a different example of an active Jesus filled life and inspire others to live their lives fully devoted to Jesus Christ.

Bishop's Young Adult Initiative $5,000.00
Denver, Colorado

Building upon the strong base of growing involvement of young adult participants, focus will be on reaching out to new areas for ministry, from which a great deal can be learned and shared through Conference Communications, district workshops in the Episcopal area, and through the United Methodist connectional system with other churches throughout the country.

Camp - A Time for Recovery and Renewal $4,000.00

The goal of this program is to reach out to targeted war affected young people in the church and society through camping activities providing opportunities for total recovery and spiritual renewal.

Engaging Future Religious Leaders $7,000.00

This project nurtures young people in their faith journey by giving them the opportunity to connect their faith with their convictions for justice. They will gain practical experience in justice ministry, connecting with people as representatives of their faith tradition. Students will have the opportunity to work in an interfaith context, network with other people of faith with similar passions, and do some theological reflection related to work.

The vision is to give young people with talent a haven where they can perfect their craft. It will educate students in the areas of Vocal Arts, Dance, Drama, Art, Photography and Film. Providing a family like atmosphere, we will support gifted and talented children, teens and young adults in all their pursuits in a place where they are safe, nurtured, appreciated, and loved.

Ilocos South District Christian Youth Dev Program $2,500.00

This program aims to educate, train, and empower youth towards holistic development and effective service to churches and communities. The program will offer leadership training, ministry discernment, a Youth Caravan, and small group ministries called Youth Covenant Discipleship Groups or CDGs.

Transformation within the project workers through their contacts with people who have had no previous contact with churches or church facilities. Transformation of those attending the project through contacts with Christians, who take seriously the social responsibilities involved in dealing in a loving way with the previous way of life of those who attend. Transformation within the local community through support for the project which was not previously practiced. Through this new forms of missionary and evangelistic outreach have arisen.

Leadership Development: A New Generation $5,000.00

The purpose is to aid in the equipping of young people for leadership in the local church and the world; to provide encouragement and support for a positive transition to adulthood that includes spiritual transformation and the adopting of healthy lifestyles. In order for this to occur, trust must be developed among the participants and love must mediate the interactions. We will offer a safe, secure environment where past hurts can be healed, old wounds may find a balm, and young people are encouraged to live out God's visions for themselves and others.

Meet-Me-Halfway Worship & Newspaper Project $5,000.00

The purpose of this project is to empower young people through the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Along with other church partners the project supports our young people's desire to publish a newspaper to tell their "good news". Through their fellowship and worship we are committed to show them God's love.

National Visitation & Leadership Development $7,000.00

This project provides a hands-on experience for young people to demonstrate their God-given gifts, graces and talents. The project will provide opportunities for learning, exposure, participation, sharing, advocacy, worship, outreach, and relief, all of which are necessary to facilitate the proper nurturing of young people in their faith journey.

SOAR $5,000.00
Mt Pleasant, South Carolina

SOAR is a new program which will encourage young people engaged in home repair to study, observe, create alliances and reflect on the causes and effects of poverty on the world and God's purpose for their own lives. The program will include at least three nightly group sessions, following a day's work of home repair, and individual times for reflection and journaling.

Super Saturday Deaf Youth Group $7,000.00
Baltimore, Maryland

The Going Local/Going Global program will empower young Deaf people in the Super Saturday Program to be in mission outreach with Deaf peers in the local Deaf community and to be in mission partnership with Deaf young people in the developing United Methodist Deaf ministry in the Zimbabwe Annual Conference.

Training Youth Leaders Program (TYLP) $6,000.00
Katanga, Democratic Republic of Congo

District youth leaders will empower the annual conference youth by equipping them in leadership development, advocating peace building in their areas and fighting against the spread of HIV/AIDS which will enable them to become good church or community leaders in their respective context.

Y.E.S.! (Youth Evangelizing Successfully) $5,000.00

The project will create opportunities for rural, Christian youth to worship together and help lead their peers to Christ. It will include community-wide outreach activities paired with leadership development training for area youth and their leaders. A strong youth network that will empower youth to accept the challenge of church and community transformation is the vision.

Young Adult Leadership Academy $5,000.00
Grand Rapids, Michigan

To achieve this year's focus, Engaging the World for Peace, the Young Adult Leadership Academy is using a diverse group of teachers and facilitators that will use their own cultural identities and experiences to address cultural conflicts, both globally and locally, as a way of illustrating issues surrounding peacemaking.

Youth Theological Initiative at Candler $2,500.00
Atlanta, Georgia

The Academy is an effort to help young persons identify and claim their theological voices, and bring their theological insights and commitments to bear within their communities for the benefit of church and society. To this end, the Summer Academy strives to make all teaching and learning collaborative, fostering partnerships among youth and between youth and adults.
