Worship Matters, Volume 1. Edited by Byron Anderson (Discipleship Resources, 1999). This volume explores theological and liturgical perspectives on United Methodist worship based on the denomination's official worship resources: The United Methodist Hymnal, The United Methodist Book of Worship, Mil Voces Para Celebrar. Includes 23 articles addressing questions raised in 2 primary contexts: the church itself and the changing landscape of North American culture. Part 1 explores the relationship among theology, liturgy, and worship. Part 2 examines the connections between worship and diversity in our culture.
Worship Matters, Volume 2, (Discipleship Resources, 1999). Anderson takes pastors and other worship leaders/planners to the heart of worship practices in this "how-to" manual. This volume explores the work of worship by focusing on people, places, and planning. Part 1 examines the role of the congregation in worship. Part 2 discusses how to create space for worship.
