Witness A 25-week study resource designed as a small-group experience
Exploring and Sharing Your Christian Faith

Witness is a 25-week study to create a culture of vital Christian witness by helping individuals and congregations prepare to share their faith as they become more excited about Christian witnessing.

Every year hikers explore some part of the Appalachian Trail. Only a small percentage, however, tackle the trail as thru-hikers. Very few who begin the trek in Georgia in early spring complete the journey to Maine before the first frost. But for those who do, and even for those who simply do their best, thru-hiking is a life-changing adventure.

Witness is designed to be a transformational experience. In this study, you will take a journey full of challenges like climbing a trail. Around every bend each participant will find answers and make discoveries about his or her own life and faith. Each week participants are expected to read, study, and complete assignments. Then, once a week, participants will gather to discuss their experiences and support one another in their journeys.

How many times have you wanted to do something out of the ordinary? Do you want to stretch yourself, challenge your soul, and maybe discover who you really are? Would you like to know what in your life is really valuable?

Witness is an invitation to just such a journey. This study is designed as a small-group experience. It combines the practice of spiritual disciplines within a community of faith with Bible study, theological reflection, and the application of witnessing principles.

  • Witness focuses biblically and theologically on understandings about God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the church.

  • Witness helps participants answer questions about their own gifts for ministry and witness.

  • Witness is a life-changing adventure — a trek — for both participants and congregation.

  • Witness is about making discoveries — about self, about God’s purpose for all creation, about being a child of God, and about being a disciple of Jesus Christ.
