Bishop Rueben P. Job is a retired United Methodist bishop who has had a lifelong interest in the spiritual life. He was formerly world editor at The Upper Room, a District Superintendent and pastor.

He has a long list of published books, including his most recent titles, Three Simple Rules: A Wesleyan Way of Living and Living Fully, Dying Well
.


Dr. Amy G. Oden is Professor of History of Christianity at Wesley Theological Seminary teaching courses in Early to Reformation Church History, Readings in Women’s Writings and in Augustine, Early Christian Communities, History of Christian Practices, Welcoming the Stranger [History of Hospitality] and Women in Early and Medieval Christianity.

She is a member of University United Methodist Church in College Park, MD and has recently finished a book project entitled God's Welcome: Hospitality for a Gospel-Hungry World. Her Ph.D. is from Southern Methodist University and she also had a degree from the University of Oklahoma.


Bishop Hee-Soo Jung is the Episcopal Leader of the Northern Illinois Conference, Before his election to the episcopacy, he served as a district superintendent, a pastor of congregations in Wisconsin, Texas and Korea, chaired the Department of Religion and Philosophy and was Dean of the University Chapel at Kangnam University and Seminary in Kyungki-Do, Korea.

Bishop Jung earned a Doctor of Philosophy from University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Arts in Institute of Buddhist Studies, and Dongguk University Graduate School, Seoul, and, graduated from Methodist Theological Seminary in Korea.


Bishop Bruce Ough is the resident Bishop of the Ohio West Area of The United Methodist Church. Prior to his election he served as District Superintendent, Council Director and pastor. His work has included training events, seminars, and retreats in the areas of spiritual formation, leadership development, program development, and church administration.

Bishop Ough has degrees from North Dakota State University and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. He has done graduate work at Northwestern University and completed The Upper Room’s two-year Academy for Spiritual Formation, serving on its Leadership Team.

Bishop Ough will be our Spiritual Discernment Guide. He will make short presentations during the conference helping us to reflect on becoming deeper spiritual leaders who are more consistent and faithful and who delight in the mystery of God’s presence.


Rev. Beth Librande has a passion for creative worship and an enthusiastic heart for Christ. She loves drama and helping people experience the presence of the Lord in many multimedia ways. Beth grew up as the daughter of two United Methodist clergy and now both she and her brother are serving churches in the Detroit Annual Conference.
