"This mystery has been kept in the dark for a long time, but now it’s out in the open. God wanted everyone, not just Jews, to know this rich and glorious secret inside and out, regardless of their background, regardless of their religious standing. The mystery in a nutshell is just this: Christ is in you, so therefore you can look forward to sharing in God’s glory." —Colossians 1:26-27 [Peterson’s The Message]

Sharing in the Mystery
As leaders in the United Methodist Church we long to participate more in just this mystery, in sharing in God’s glory. But it is embarrassingly easy to get so involved in everyday tasks themselves that we forget the mystery of Christ in us. We forget what our work is really about. How can we grow and deepen our experience of the mystery of God’s presence in our lives? How can we deepen our own discernment of how to live as spiritual leaders in the United Methodist Church? How can we learn to live more creatively and constructively following Christ today? How can we better embody the mystery of God’s presence?
You are invited to come together to consider these questions at the Spiritual Leaders Conference. Come join us as we explore this mystery of God within ourselves, in the context of the work we do and in the leadership we provide the United Methodist Church. Help us explore themes of:
How we can best be fed and formed in the life of God;
How we deepen our experience of God and manifest God’s Spirit more as we lead in the United Methodist Church and
How this mystery can become more and more a part of our work.
The scriptures that will guide us in addition to Colossians 1:26-27 are Colossians 3:12-17, 2 Corinthians 4:7-12 and Psalm 91.
