On April 26, 2001, the Council for Accountable Discipleship joined the Wesley Theological Seminary community as it gathered in Oxnam Chapel for the annual Covenant Service.

The service featured two of the student covenant discipleship groups that had been together during the academic year. The first was CD Group 8 (Eric Doolittle, Pam Egan, Stacia Glavas, Carl Howard, Linda Monroe, and Jim Sherwood), who responded to a reading of Philippians 1:3-8 with a creative musical interpretation of their covenant.

Cheryl Mercer shared remarks on her group's experience while reflecting upon Amos 5:21-24.

The service concluded with a presentation of group covenants, Eucharist, and a commissioning delivered by Dr. David Lowes Watson. The covenants are placed on permanent record at the seminary.
