I recently had the pleasure of holding a workshop on covenant discipleship and class leaders with more than 30 class leaders and guests from neighboring churches at St. Mark United Methodist Church, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Held on Friday evening and Saturday morning, the workshop involved having the participants write sample covenants and role-play a typical CD meeting. As a result of this experience, a pilot group has been formed. The Rev. Joseph D. Awotwi, pastor of St. Mark, is eager to develop both covenant discipleship groups and class leaders within the congregation. Dolleen Sims is coordinator.
