Starting in the 1980s The General Board of Discipleship and The General Board of Global Ministries created an experience to train new church pastors. In the last ten years the School of Congregational Development (SCD) has blossomed to include training for Bishops, District Superintendents, Conference Staff, pastors, and church teams who desire to learn how to create and develop disciple-making congregations.
In 2009 the SCD will take place in Chicago, Illinois, Wednesday July 29 - Sunday, August 2.
You will be invited to:
Be challenged and given new insights through dynamic Plenary Speakers
Be part of a Ministry Track through which you will receive in-depth training to transform your church
Participate in three Core Seminars that will focus on key areas of congregational development
Choose two Workshops led by the host church that will give hands-on tools for a specific area of ministry
Choose a Teaching Church for an all-day session on Sunday
