The Barr-Harris Children's Grief Center serves as a resource for those working with kids who are dealing with death and grieving. Two sections of the site focus on books about such loss — one for professionals and one for kids and adolescents. The site provides information about the center (located in Chicago) and its focus on evaluating and treating kids dealing with the loss of loved ones.

Institute for Youth Development
IYD delivers current information about unhealthy risk behaviors involving alcohol, drugs, tobacco, violence, sex, and sexually transmitted diseases. This site not only connects one to a vast variety of IYD information, but it also provides a list of government websites dealing with related issues. Parents can read tips in dealing with teen behavior issues, while kids can gain advice from teens who have "been there and done that."

Interlinc
Interlinc calls itself youth ministry's trusted "LINK" to the resources of the Christian music industry.

Kids Peace and TeenCentral
This site provides young teens with a place to vent their frustrations, talk about their anxieties, and support one another without outside pressure. A search feature allows teens to type in thoughts and connect with stories from peers who have experienced similar problems. Kids as well as professionals respond to stories, questions and statements. The "teen help line" provides state-by-state addresses and phone numbers of crisis centers.

National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy
Visitors to this site can find out about and order resources such as publications on teen pregnancy, pamphlets aimed at helping parents communicate with their teens and a Teen In Site page. This page hosts a lot of teen opinion and includes results of weekly surveys that have asked teens about such things as whether they talk to members of their faith community about sex and pregnancy. This site also offers an extensive list of website links.

National Study of Youth and Religion
The National Study of Youth and Religion is a research project being conducted at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill under the direction of Dr. Christian Smith, Professor in the Department of Sociology.

Visitors to this site will find information and an up-to-date database for youth workers, a list of upcoming events in the field, and explanations about the youth service field and how to enter it. This site includes volunteer opportunities for youth and lists other youth work organizations in the UK.

National Youth Development Information Center
This comprehensive website for youth issues, sponsored by the 27-member National Collaboration for Youth, offers extensive coverage of youth development programs, with links to reports about the effectiveness of such programs, information on how to get funding for programs, and detailed guides showing how programs actually work.

Search Institute is an independent, nonprofit organization committed to contributing to the knowledge base about youth development and to translating high-quality research on children and youth into practical ideas, tools, services, and resources for families, neighborhoods, schools, organizations, and communities.

Tutor/Mentor Connection
Designed in the shape of a wheel, this site is creating an exchange of ideas and resources for a "village"of strong tutor/mentoring programs. Numerous examples of tutor/mentoring programs from around the world can be found here as well as a feedback section that allows visitors to connect with others who have worked with this program.

Umderstanding Your Teenager
This website, from the popular Christian seminar "Understanding Your Teenager," offers an outline of the seminar, biographies of presenters quotes from people who have been through the program. There are also links to parenting resources and tips.

Youth Specialties is an organization that serves more than 80,000 youth workers each year through training seminars, conventions, videos, magazines, and products. The site contains links to some 750 websites of interest to persons who work with youth.
