Developing Strategies for Future in Children's Ministry

Using the fundamental steps that are needed for strategic planning, we will work through a mock strategic planning session. We will then develop 4-5 measurable objectives after brainstorming current issues. Process owners will be assigned to write specific strategies for each objective. Lastly, the action steps for each strategy will be determined. We will have time to discuss each part of the process. In our role as leaders in children’s ministries, our role is often that of pastoral care for children and for their families. This seminar will provide tools for visiting children in the home, helping children in times of crisis and change, and helping children deal with death and illness. TWO DAY SESSION. In this seminar participants experience actual sessions, learn about a child's spiritual nature, and learn how to set up the room environment using The Way of the Child curriculum. Published in 2006, The Way of the Child has proven to be a meaningful resource for children and their leaders. Churches are reporting that children are having deeper faith experiences and attendance is increasing. The Way of the Child offers 39 experiential sessions to be used with children 6-11 years old in a variety of settings. It is designed to provide a balance to the more informational models of Christian education. Materials will be available for purchase at 20% discount.
