The Dedication of Infants: A Ritual History
It is not unusual to be told by both former EUBs and former Methodists that the EUBs "dedicated infants" and that they had a service for it in their Book of Ritual. The impression often given or implied by such a statement is that the practice was a venerable one and that the liturgy was an inheritance at least as old as the Reformation.
