Rivers of Faith Report
On April 24-27, nearly 350 leaders of adult ministries converged on the river in San Antonio for Rivers of Faith. Many of you attended this exciting, faith-filled event. Sponsored by the General Board of Discipleship, the event was an open invitation for all leaders of adult ministries to participate in a national training event.
Leaders of older adult ministry, young adult ministry, single adult ministry, midlife and Boomer ministry, marriage ministry, and others were all in attendance. The theme, Rivers of Faith: Transforming Adult Ministries in the 21st Century was highlighted throughout the conference, as well as the Scripture verse, "Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9, TEV).
Rivers of Faith provided participants with outstanding speakers and workshop leaders, exciting new resources, networking opportunities, and creative worship. Overall, participants praised the leadership for the design and content of the event. They have become energized about possibilities for transforming adult ministries in the twenty-first century. And many requests have been made for this type of event in the future.
