Older Adult Ministry Grants -- No Additional Funds Available
The United Methodist Committee on Older Adult Ministries is grateful for all the grant applications received this quadrennium concerning funding for older adult ministries. In recent years, 150 grant applications from various United Methodist congregations and United Methodist-related institutions were submitted to the committee. Fifty-five were approved and awarded grant funding.
The committee members were delighted by the wonderful proposals submitted and the vision generated for creative ministry by, with, and for older adults. It was unfortunate that not all grant applications could be funded; the need for this vital ministry is very real. The committee had a very limited amount of money and many grant applications had to be turned down for lack of funds, but not for lack of vision.
As a result, we are sorry to announce that there are no additional funds available for older adult ministry grants from the United Methodist Committee on Older Adult Ministries. Should funding become available next quadrennium, an announcement will be posted on this website, as well as in Center Sage newsletter (the biannual publication of GBOD’s Center on Aging and Older Adult Ministries).
Thank you for your interest. May God continue to bless you in your faithful ministry with older adults.
