Improvisation Papers
We recently launched a library of new resources for camp/retreat leaders written by camp/retreat leaders. We call them "Improvisation Papers" because they take a theme, subject, or activity and create something new specifically related to camps or retreats. Since the field of Christian Camp and Retreat Ministries needs new tools and resources, and publishers are hesitant to print them because their sales targets are typically much larger than people in a specialized arena might purchase, we are opening the doors so our own leaders can write them.
In this issue of Camp/Retreat Memo are two new contributions to the Improvisation Papers Library of Articles and Resources. Both are resources you can use with local churches planning to come to your sites for a retreat. Miranda Lovegren and Lisa Jean Hoefner have been involved in the new certification in United Methodist Camp/Retreat Ministries. Thanks to Lisa Jean and Miranda for their gift to the community.
Look for Gary Lawson's Improvisation Paper, "Creating a Mission Statement," in the next issue of Camp/Retreat Memo. (Note: If any of you would like to contribute an article or a resource for the online library, contact Kevin Witt, ktwjel@aol.com or 541-317-1615. To read other articles that were recently added to the Improvisation Papers Library, go to www.gbod.org/camping, click on "Resources," then click on "Improvisation Papers.")
