I'd like to recommend to those within the camp/retreat center network an excellent book: The Purpose-Driven Life by Rick Warren. This book can be used for personal edification as well as a resource for staff development. From the book cover: "This book will help you understand why you are alive and God's amazing plan for you. Knowing God's purpose for creating you will reduce your stress, focus your energy, simplify your decisions, give meaning to our life, and, most important, prepare you for eternity."

The book is written in such a way as to be read and studied daily over a 40-day period.
