For Those Staying at the Sumatanga Camp and Conference Center: The majority of you will be staying at Sumatanga, and we have arranged round-trip motor coach transportation to and from the Birmingham Airport. The cost for round-trip transportation to and from Sumatanga Camp & Conference Center is $30. Be sure to sign up for busing on the registration form, if you desire it.  The first motor coach will depart some time around 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26. Subsequent departures will occur as the bus fills up, with the last motor coach departing the Birmingham Airport around 4:30 p.m.

You will need to allow at least 30 minutes to deplane, travel to the baggage claim area, get your luggage, and pick up your prepaid bus ticket from the NCRC information booth. The NCRC booth will be located at the Rental Car kiosk between the escalators from the B and C terminals. When you register for the event online, be sure to mark "bus transportation" and pay the $30 fee.

You must plan your flight to land before 4:00 p.m. in Birmingham to meet the 4:30 p.m. motor coach. Participants who arrive after 4:00 p.m. will need to plan for their own transportation. Please schedule your arrival time earlier in the day in case your airline experiences a delay.

Airline departures from Birmingham should be scheduled no earlier than 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30. The first motor coach will leave Sumatanga Camp & Conference Center at 7:00 a.m. for those flying out by 10:00 a.m. or shortly thereafter. Our other departures will be at 8:00 a.m, and 9:00 a.m.

For Those Staying at a Nearby Hotel: Those of you opting to lodge off-site in order to get a single room may book a room separately with the hotel. Hotels are approximately 20-25 minutes from Sumatanga (see meals and lodging). We have located information about the rental car companies connected with the Birmingham airport. We encourage you to car pool with others each day from the hotel to Sumatanga. The information on rental car companies connected with the airport is found at:

 Airport Information– Birmingham International Airport  (BHM)

 Birmingham Airport has two terminals - B and C.

Luggage is centrally located on the lower level between the two escalators coming down from each of the terminals.

 The NCRC (National Camp and Retreat Committee ) Information Desk is located with all the rental car agencies. It is the booth closest to the terminal B escalator.

Hospitality Rooms

Two rooms have been set up for your comfort and relaxation in the airport on the day of your arrival.  They are located to the far right as you come down the Escalator from Terminal C.  Please stop by and get a bottle of water for your trip to Sumatanga Camp & Conference Center.  These hospitality rooms are a place for you to wait for the bus or to leave your luggage if you go to the dining area to get a snack.

Greeters will meet you at the bottom of the escalators to help direct you to the Information Desk, rental cars, and the NCRC Hospitality Room.
