Birmingham Civil Rights Institute
The mission of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is to promote civil and human rights worldwide through education. Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; Sunday, 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Admission fee.

Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame
This art-deco museum honors great jazz artists with ties to the state of Alabama. While furnishing educational information, the museum is also a place for entertainment. Exhibits convey the accomplishments of the likes of Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton and Erskine Hawkins and the music that made them famous.

Alabama Sports Hall of Fame
Over the last thirty-five years, the ASHOF has become the benchmark for other Sports Museums across the country, with over 5,000 sports artifacts elegantly displayed in the 33,000 square foot building. Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Admission fee.

The American Village
This is a citizenship education center and colonial park set on 113 acres, 26 miles south of Birmingham off I-65 at exit 234. Costumed historical interpreters, museum, 12 colonial style buildings.

The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum
Dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, exhibition, and history of motorcycles, vintage vehicles, and motorsports. Hours: Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.;
Sunday, Noon-5:00 p.m. Admission fee.

Birmingham Zoo
Open year round, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Monday-Sunday. Admission Fee.

DeSoto Caverns
These are the first officially recorded caves in the United States.
Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Sunday, opens at 1:00 p.m.

Southern Museum of Flight
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; Sunday, 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
