Like the colored pieces of a kaleidoscope—culture, life transitions, demographics, ministry settings, and stages of human development interact to form unique patterns that influence how faith is formed and nurtured. ALL GOD’S PEOPLE provides an opportunity for clergy and lay leaders who have responsibility for faith formation to look closely at both these pieces and the resulting patterns. This event intentionally focuses on Christian discipleship as a life long process that connects people across the age-span rather than isolating them into age-specific silos. Recognizing that deep and transformative learning is most likely to occur when learners are actively engaged with others around areas of mutual interest and passion, this event seeks to create a setting that will facilitate such a learning community. Event participants, together with leaders from the Family, Life Span & Latino Ministries Team, will explore how faith is formed in people from birth through older adulthood and how we can be more effective in nurturing faith for people at all ages. The format of this event will be different from other GBOD events you may have attended. This is not an event featuring keynote speakers or a variety of workshops on specific age-level or ministry topics. These various lenses all play a unique role in understanding how faith is formed and nurtured throughout the life span. Together we will explore what leaders can do to strengthen faith for people of all ages. Consider attending ALL GOD’S PEOPLE as an important part of your continuing education for 2008.
